Whilst not the first alt I ever rolled my mage is the oldest one still hanging around on Shadowsong EU. Valdarian began life as a female human mage named Magyxx and was part of an army created to have some auction house fun however I stupidly named my alts with a theme based around their class and the "yxx" suffix I invented when naming Evlyxx so it was bloody obvious the mass postings on the auction house was 1 person! But I digress....

Magyxx eventually became Eyesical and after finally becoming bored with stupid names and deciding I wanted my mage to look like Shade of Aran, led to the birth of Valdaran so named after a wikipedia search for aran led me here. I recently evicted him to a dofferent server to level a NElf mage for the guild achievement but a few days ago decided I wanted the old guy back so deleted my newly rolled 85 Nelf mage and brought the old fella back home. Sadly I had to change name when I put him on his holiday server and simply added an "i" to the name because it was close enough and sounded good too.

Vald, as he is often referred to, has led a mixed life, starting as a herb/ore farmer and ending up as my goto DPS raider back in Wrath until I got bored playing arcane mage and switched over to Strigimaga, his raiding in Cataclysm has been limited to 2 Magmaw kills but soon that will improve with some LFR action. more »

I was bored, the guild were closing in on "Stay Classy" I had ££s in my wallet and a 10 level 85s on Shadowsong. A lethal mix for an altaholic with a weird ass shift pattern (2 days 0700-1900, 2 nights 1900-0700 and 4 days off) that gives me too much time home alone.

I decided to ship an alt out to Agamaggan to join my other 85 alt, a warrior so that I could roll a new toon. The guild needed a Night Elf or Dwarven mage, a Night Elf death knight or a gnome warrior. The warrior was a non starter as I had 2x85 warriors already, the death knight was removed from the list as I really wanted to see some of the new revamped zones in Azeroth and that left me the mage options. Both races were new to the class and after as I already had done the dwarven starting areas since 4.0.3 I decided the NElf was the one for me.

I wanted to name my mage Evian,as it's a play on the name Evlyxx and Ian my IRL name and with Evian being a brand of bottled water I thought it went well with the class. Sadly some paladin had already laid claim to the name but not seen fit to level it past level 3 I couldn't have it, but a cunning plan to feminise it into Eviana was hatched and a female Night Elf became the the chosen one.

To avoid upsetting anyone all my beta information is going to be hidden from the main page, So if you want to have content spoiled you will need to click the "read more" link further down the page. The only clue will be from the title of the post but these will, I promise, always be vague enough to not give anything away.

My purpose of playing the beta is to try to break the game, I'm not doing any actual content that I am likely to run Evlyxx, or any of my alts through a kajillion times after the launch. I am here for exploration, looking at the older Azeroth content and to see where I need to go to be able to power level professions.
